On Sunday, May 7, the women who attend Sh’eefa were privileged to participate in a unique Morning of Inspiration Event. A crowd of over 100 women from all over the Five Towns, Far Rockaway, West Hempstead, Great Neck, Central Queens, and Brooklyn came to participate in the event, which featured Mrs. Chaya Newman, guest speaker from Eretz Yisrael, and Mrs. Jackie Bitton. The day of learning was dedicated by Felice Kutner and family, l’ilui nishmas Leah Pesha bas Reb Moshe a”h. Delicious refreshments were generously sponsored by Seasons. Breakfast was also served to all those in attendance.
Mrs. Chaya Newman spoke on the topic of “Spiritual GPS: Maximizing Your Personal Potential.” She cited examples from Tanach of individuals who were able to accomplish tremendous feats when they stretched themselves beyond what they thought they were capable of. She then made the concept relatable by telling stories of contemporary people who also stretched beyond what they thought was possible to accomplish great things.
Mrs. Jackie Bitton spoke on the topic of “S’firas HaOmer: Counting Your Personal Blessings.” In her trademark way, Mrs. Bitton dazzled the audience with personal stories and anecdotes, as well as practical advice about how to treat each person with honor, use our koach ha’dibur properly, and infuse this crucial time of S’firas HaOmer with Torah and k’dushah. After the shiur, attendees had the opportunity to ask Mrs. Bitton questions and to speak to her individually.
The women left Sh’eefa spiritually recharged and inspired. As one of the participants at Sh’eefa said, “Sh’eefa fills my Sundays with purpose. They are just what I need.” Thank you to program director Mrs. Aviva Zakutinsky for arranging these vital programs for the women in our community. Thank you to all of the donors and volunteers who make Sh’eefa possible.
In addition to Sh’eefa’s full May schedule of shiurim scheduled, there is also a special Shavuos learning program planned for Leil Shavuos! More details about the Leil Shavuos learning program will soon be announced.
