I disagree with Warren Hecht’s criticism of negative comments made regarding Grace Meng’s refusal to attend President Trump’s inauguration. These comments were very well deserved. It was shameful for a sitting member of Congress to not attend the inauguration of a new president, regardless of her personal feelings toward him. Attending presidential inaugurations is an integral part of her job.
I hope Mr. Hecht realizes that Meng’s decision to not attend the inauguration, in addition to several other of her outrageous statements and actions lately, had everything to do with her wish to become deputy director of the Democratic National Committee. In order to be considered for this role, she had to prove her uber-liberal credentials. As it turns out, she didn’t get the job. It went to Keith Ellison.
