On Tuesday, September 13, the Rabbinical Alliance of America will hold festivities at the Sephardic Lebanese Congregation, 805 Avenue T, Brooklyn, to celebrate their 80th anniversary. The program will be highlighted by Rav Yaakov Shulman and Rav Leibel Wulliger being m’sayeim at their 34th Annual Chai Elul Siyum HaShas, a program chaired by Rav Eytan Feiner, the rav of Congregation Kneseth Israel, The White Shul. The event will be in memoriam of HaRav Shmaryahu Shulman zt”l, HaRav Meir Shapiro zt”l, and Rebbetzin Pearl Yita Shapiro a”h, with sponsorship by R’ Pinny Shapiro and family.
Rav Herschel Welcher, the rav of Congregation Ahavas Yisroel, will be honored with delivering the 80th Celebratory Address. At the dinner, there will be a special 80th Keynote Address imparted by New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The program will honor three of his high-ranking staff members: Joel Eisdorfer, Senior Advisor to Mayor Adams, with the Distinguished Leadership Award; Menashe Shapiro, Deputy Chief of Staff to Mayor Adams, with the Outstanding Guardianship Award; and Fred Kreizman, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit, with the Community Leadership Award.
Registration opens at 5:00 p.m. with Minchah at 5:45 p.m., followed by the Siyum HaShas and dinner convocation given by Rav Yehoshua S. Hecht, rav of Congregation Beth Israel Chabad, Norwalk, Connecticut.

The Rabbinical Alliance of America / Igud HaRabbonim is a national rabbinic organization founded in 1942 that now boasts over 900 members across a broad spectrum of Orthodox Judaism who serve as congregational leaders, rebbeim, chaplains, heads of Jewish organizations, and communal leaders. The RAA is affiliated with an active beis din and provides services to rabbis and community members. Services include rabbinic coaching, placement, help with wills, burial planning, and more. Every month, the organization convenes for a festive meal on Rosh Chodesh. Members complete the entire Talmud yearly, celebrating together on 18 (Chai) Elul.
