It is an important Central tradition for each grade to embark on a couple of chesed missions throughout the year. The freshmen had their first taste of this last week, when the grade split up into groups to help out the needy in various places. Some went to Yachad Gift to help special needs employees package gift baskets for Chanukah, and others did similar work at the Met Council.

Another group visited the Yachad Ivdu school and spent quality time with special needs students, while other students visited sick children at St Mary’s Hospital. Ms. Elana Kook, Freshman Grade Dean, said, “The day was filled with a great spirit of giving and fun. It was a great way to acclimate 9th graders to the chesed culture at Central.”
