Yeshiva Tiferes Moshe celebrated Lag BaOmer with its annual bonfire. The Lag BaOmer simchah started with the bonfire and live music. The grades 1-4 celebration started with Rabbi Bookson speaking to the boys about what the simchah of Lag BaOmer is and why we celebrate it. Rabbi Pollak was then honored with lighting the fire and started the singing of Bar Yochai with the boys. Rabbi Bookson then led the boys in great singing and dancing around the bonfire.

After the dancing, the boys went straight to a special pizza and spicy fries lunch. Over 100 pies of pizza were ordered from Shimon’s and Benjy’s pizza shops. The Preschool boys were given their own special time to dance at the bonfire with Morah Ahuva Levine and their moros. The celebration then continued with Rabbi May lighting the grades 5-8 bonfire and Rabbi Unger and Rabbi Becker leading the boys in singing and dancing lichvod Lag BaOmer.

During the morning, every boy was excited to be given a special soft-serve ice cream from the Cones Kosher Ice Cream Truck. All those who observed the boys in Yeshiva witnessed the elevated level of simchah that everyone felt on Lag BaOmer. A special thank you to Aryeh Kohn for his bonfire expertise and to the Parents Association and those dedicated parents for sponsoring the celebration.
