Forgoing all precedent in American history, the DOJ under Joe Biden targeted the former President and chief political rival of the party in power, President Donald Trump. In a shocking statement on his website, Trump announced that the FBI raided his home in Palm Beach, Florida - Mar-A-Lago.
“These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump said in a statement. “After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.”
It was later revealed that the reason for the raid was to find classified documents that Trump allegedly took from the White House that should have gone to the National Archives. According to reports, the FBI agents arrived in plainclothes, only notified the Secret Service immediately prior to arriving at the property. They were looking for 15 boxes of documents, some of which may have been marked Top Secret, although they could have been declassified by Trump himself while he was President.
Given the FBI’s track record, Trump could have stored those documents on an unsecure private email server and then destroyed them when requested and nothing would have happened. On second thought, he would have had to legally become a Clinton first.
Democrats on Twitter found a new sense of religion when they praised whatever deity they believe in these days for the miracle of corrupt institutions targeting Trump. Merrick Garland’s tenure as Attorney General was tarnished months ago when he caved to the teachers unions in targeting parents who dared defy their local school boards. His reputation took further hits when he chose to baselessly sue Republican states for alleged discrimination. This is the final nail in his coffin of objectivity. There is no coming back from greenlighting a raid of the home of a former President.
Then there’s the judge that signed the warrant. Reports indicate that he was the former lawyer of Jeffrey Epstein, notorious human trafficker and Democrat mega-donor. He himself donated to the Obama and Jeb Bush campaigns. While he may claim that no one is above the law when signing this warrant, skeptics should understand that no one’s motivations are above suspicion.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who is already mentally redecorating Nancy Pelosi’s office, vowed that this would not stand when Republicans retake power this November. “I’ve seen enough,” McCarthy said in a statement. “The Department of Justice has reached an intolerable state of weaponized politicization. When Republicans take back the House, we will conduct immediate oversight of this department, follow the facts, and leave no stone unturned.”
“Attorney General Garland, preserve your documents and clear your calendar.”
Eric Trump, son of the former President, told Brian Kilmeade of Fox News that 30 agents entered the home, broke into the safe, and found nothing.
Dan Bongino, Fox commentator and former Secret Service agent under Presidents Bush and Obama, exploded when reacting to the story. “You cannot tell me we still live in a constitutional republic and not the freakin’ third world when you have Hillary Clinton paying foreign agents to interfere with an election, people lying under oath repeatedly, Hunter Biden doing crack on tape,” he said. “And what happens? Where are the federal agents? They’re not in Malibu. They’re not in Chappaqua. They’re in Mar a Lago.”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis weighed in on this as well. “The raid of [Mar-a-Lago] is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents, while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves,” DeSantis wrote on Twitter. “Now the Regime is getting another 87k IRS agents to wield against its adversaries? Banana Republic.”
Conservative lawyer Harmeet Dillion listed the myriad of egregious actions by the FBI of late. “This FBI,” she tweeted, “Pushed Russia collusion hoax, Spied on law-abiding Americans, Lied to FISA court, Ignored Hillary’s server escapades, Ignored Biden Family criminal activity, Persecutes journalists at Project Veritas, Treats J6 trespassers like terrorists, Goes after PTA moms, Ignores drug crimes at border, Allows drug cartels to operate freely in the US... I could go on. Our FBI has become a total disgrace, and Merrick Garland is so deeply lacking in judgment that he is unfit to serve as AG. Americans deserve better that this shameful crew.”
Americans do deserve better - but no one should expect it. Remember, New York’s Attorney General Letitia James campaigned on finding a crime to prosecute Trump for. Our institutions are corrupt to their core. They need to all be taken over by people who actually care about the rule of law.
