Let’s Work On What’s Really Important For This Nation

How nice that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, and their Democratic colleagues have been working days, nights, and weekends for over two years on developing a case to impeach President Trump. A majority of Americans would prefer they expend the same amount of energy in dealing with more pressing problems. Democrats forget that they doubled our national debt from $10 trillion to $20 trillion over eight years under President Obama. Republicans under President Trump added $2 trillion more over the past two years.
Will we ever learn from past mistakes and attempt to reduce both borrowing and long-term debt, instead of allowing them to grow yearly? The new $22 trillion federal debt is going to grow $1 trillion annually for years to come. Under the new budget deal for federal fiscal years 2021 and 2022, it will grow by $2 trillion. This inheritance could bankrupt future generations.
Returning to pay-as-you-go budgeting means testing for all government assistance programs and real balanced budgets – without smoke and mirrors.
Everything needs to be on the table, including the infamous “third rails” of American politics – Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security – along with military spending, foreign aid to nations who never help us fight terrorists, agricultural subsidies, and corporate welfare bailouts. How ironic that after winning the Cold War against the evil empire of communism, it may be mismanagement of our economy that defeats us in the end.
In 12 months, there will be an election that will afford voters the opportunity to decide the future of President Trump. In the meantime, how about dealing with kitchen-table bread-and-butter issues, which are far more significant.

ABC reports that there’s been a recent influx of MS-13 members into the United States. But they’re reportedly changing their tactics in how they enter the country. Instead of entering illegally, in which they risk being caught and deported, they now simply identify as Democrats and gain instant entry into the country.
UN to Add Nazi Germany to Human Rights Council
After searching for some of the worst countries on the planet to add to the HRC, the UN chose Nazi Germany as its next candidate. UN propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels touted the UN’s decision saying, “If you take out World War II and the Holocaust, Nazi leader Adolf Hitler is an outstanding and shining example of someone who is truly dedicated to the human rights of all people, except for the Jews and anyone who disagrees with him.”
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Supports Gerrymandering
In a congressional hearing today, AOC came out in full support of gerrymandering, saying, “I’m really gonna miss Mr. Gerry Mandering. He was a very special person and an asset to our community. He was well known for being an expert in redrawing things, such as my district. He will be missed by all.”
MLB Proposes Changing World Series Rules to Make It More “Democratic”
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred recently proposed a major change to the World Series. According to the new rule, the team that wins the largest number of points wins the series. Manfred said that he applies the “popular vote” principle to both elections and baseball, arguing that the current system of winning games over points is undemocratic, just like the Electoral College, and strongly believes the new rule would make the World Series more democratic.

Peacekeeping With The Kurds And The Turks

This is my answer to the writer who agrees with Trump’s withdrawal of protection of the Kurds.
Allies never fight out of altruism. Hitler declared war on us after Pearl Harbor and was fighting Great Britain, France, and the Soviet Union, as well. But Britain and the other allies were still allied in the war even though we each had our own selfish reasons to fight Hitler for our own sakes. Secondly, our troops were on the Kurdish Turkey border as a peacekeeping mission; that’s not an engagement in regime changing “endless wars.”
If you want to eliminate peacekeeping forces, you might as well eliminate the 3,500 troops in Poland, the 15,000 in Kuwait, the 5,000 in Iraq, 13,000 in Qatar, 5,000 in the United Arab Emirates, 42,000 in Germany, and 23,000 in South Korea. Even if you have “calm” now at that border, it is with the promise that there should be ethnic cleansing or, at the very least, the elimination of autonomous rule that the Kurds have fought so hard to achieve in Northern Syria. How would we like it if Russia decided that Israel should not be so close to the Gaza border – that they should move back 20 miles inland because Hamas doesn’t feel so comfortable that Israel borders so closely with Gaza? Does that sound right?
The “enmity” that Trump and his loyal supporters repeat between the Kurds and the Turks can be said also of the enmity “between” Israel and its radical Arab Muslim neighbors who refuse to make peace with Israel. Anti-Semites will say, “Oh, who cares? They’ve been fighting each other for millennia; let them just kill each other!” Does that sound right? No, because it’s not enmity “between” Israelis and radical Islamists but rather aggression and terrorism from Israel’s enemies towards Israel.
You cannot show me where the Syrian Kurds attacked Turkey in the last 20 years. And even if you show me some exceptional case, it’s still not a reason to ethnically cleanse many of the one million Kurds in Northern Syria.
