Michelle and Andy Davidson have been devoted members of the Young Israel of Jamaica Estates community since moving to the neighborhood in June 2003 - just two days after the birth of their son Ethan. From the outset, they embraced YIJE as their home and have contributed generously through leadership and volunteering.
Michelle grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and has been deeply involved in shul life. Her many contributions include volunteering at Sisterhood initiatives, serving on the welcoming committee, chairing the Shabbat Shuva Luncheon, leading recent Chanukah dinners, and helping organize the Unity Shabbat Dinner with Rav Meir Soloveichik. She has served on the Board, including two years as Recording Secretary, and recently joined the Gemilat Chessed Committee. Professionally, Michelle serves as Executive Director of HR in Talent Development at MSCI.
Andy was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and moved to Bayside, Queens as a child. He has been a tireless leader within YIJE, having coached multiple YIJE youth sports teams, served for several years as Men’s Club President, Vice President of the shul and a long-time Board member. Andy served as a delegate to the National Council of Young Israel, a leader of the shul’s 5K run, and more recently, taken on Gabbai responsibilities and co-leadership of the Gemilat Chessed Committee. He works in digital media / marketing and opened his own consulting practice - HCIH Consulting, LLC – in 2023.
Together, Michelle and Andy are the proud parents of Allison and her husband Uriel Weisz, Ethan, and Jessica. Their family reflects the strong values and sense of community that define their lives.

Lois & Mark Weintraub
Lois and Mark Weintraub have been devoted members of the Young Israel of Jamaica Estates community for many years. Mark moved to the neighborhood in 1987 with his late wife, Naomi, a”h, where the shul played an integral role in the lives of their 3 children, Faigy, Sarah and Dovid. Lois, and her son, Aaron, joined the community upon her marriage to Mark in March 2014. Together, they have contributed their time, talents, and hearts to YIJE and the broader community.
Mark grew up in Boro Park and earned his bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College. He has served on the YIJE Board, is one of the original members of the Shabbat Hashkama minyan, and a steadfast presence at the daily 6:30 Shacharit minyan. For thirteen years, Mark operated Maven, the kosher take-out establishment on Union Turnpike, catering countless shul functions and community smachot. He continues to share his expertise as a consultant to the shul’s catering committee, 3M Caterers. Professionally, Mark serves as Controller of Maidenbaum and Sternberg, LLP.
Lois grew up in Queens and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Mannes College of Music and a master’s degree in health administration from Hofstra University. She is Executive Director of the Selfhelp Community Services Foundation, supporting Holocaust survivors and other vulnerable older adults. At YIJE, Lois has served on the Board, co-chairs the Gemilat Chessed Committee, and is an active member of the Seudah Shlishit Committee. A lifelong musician, she is a (self-described rusty) bassoon player and a proud graduate of the High School of Performing Arts.
Together, Lois and Mark are blessed with ten beloved grandchildren, who bring them endless joy and nachat. Young Israel of Jamaica Estates is honored to recognize Lois and Mark Weintraub for their dedication, leadership, and lasting commitment to our community.
