We are all living through tough times with much uncertainty. Many of us have not bothered dressing up during this pandemic and instead opted for comfortable and safe neutrals. Nevertheless, the world of fashion prevails, bringing inspiration and excitement to each and every season, adding some fun colors and adventure to our wardrobes.

The Pantone colors for fall 2020 are filled with boundless blue hues, inspiring confidence reminiscent of the evening blue skies. Blue is also a color that encourages us to expand our thinking, challenging our deep thoughts, perspective, and communication. It’s no wonder that Classic Blue has been voted Pantone Color of the Year. The rest of the fall colors are paving the way to a practical season that allows for creativity. These colors are not especially trendy, but rather timeless, to maintain wardrobe longevity. They are neither boring or mundane but pragmatic and easy to mix and match into unique pairings that evoke joy.

As far as the neutrals go, get ready for earth tones imbued with warm shades that are gentle and subdued, but uplifting and comforting. From woodsy tans, tasteful, creamy off-whites, to delicate, cool off-whites, which represent raw, recycled, and eco-friendly garments, there’s a choice for every palette. If you’re looking for a neutral with a hint of color, try Peach Nougat - a warm, peachy pink that’s soft, feminine, and chic. Rose tan, a dusty pink which is a restrained but mature pink and imparts a sense of composure, is another great understated neutral.

If you love color, are gutsy or adventurous, try some of this season’s choices of reds and oranges or the purple addition to fall 2020. Check out Samba, which is a saturated red that is upbeat with an energetic quality and has a mature refinement. Burnt Henna is a rich warm, deep, reddish-brown with a sophisticated earthiness. This makes for a flawless autumn color. Fired Brick is another deep red, with a hint of more neutral. If you want a bolder choice, opt for Mandarin red, a warm, dynamic shade with strong orange undertones. Another orange you may want to try is Exuberance, an autumn, cheerful, and happy color that pairs well with earth tones. Amberglow is a slightly lighter orange than Exuberance, but still quite radiant and lively, promoting self-confidence. If you love a hypnotic purple shade try Magenta Purple, which definitely intrigues and mesmerizes.

For those who love green or yellow, you’re in luck this fall as well. Ultramarine green makes a splash and exudes a calmness of ocean depths, while Green Sheen, a yellow with a bit of a green undertone, is the boldest color on the Pantone Fall spectrum. If you enjoy a neutral green, opt for Military Olive, which is a warm and deep shade that evokes discipline.

Color is a great way to spice up your wardrobe, add some life to your clothes, and enhance your complexion for your next Zoom meeting. Besides, it’s also an ideal way to brighten up your day.
