Eyes are the windows of your soul and one of the most noticeable features. Although women want their eyes to look youthful and big, nature does not always cooperate. Enhancing small eyes requires the right techniques, in order to create an illusion of larger and more open eyes. The following tips will help your eyes pop.
- Wow your Brows
Eyebrows frame and showcase your eyes, so keeping them tidy is a must. Stray hairs on the bottom of the brows will close in your eyelids, making them appear smaller. On the other hand, messy hairs at the top will serve as a distraction. It’s therefore always best to pluck those unwanted hairs and fill in the sparse areas with the right pencil or brow cream.
- Conceal those Circles
When you have dark undereye circles, your eyes will automatically look smaller. Use the right shade of concealer to enhance your eyes.
3.White Brightens
You can fill in the bottom waterline with a white, nude, or peach eyeliner to instantly brighten and widen your eyes.
- Effective Highlighting
Anything you highlight draws attention and comes forward visually. Placing a highlight above and below the brow creates an instant effect. Try highlighting the brow area directly under the brow plus above the highest point of the arch in order to give yourself a brow lift.
- Curl your Lashes
If your lashes are straight, use an eyelash curler, which will widen your eyes, because the lashes will automatically be lifted and the eyes will appear more open.
- Lighten the Inner V
Try applying a white, gold, or any very light eyeliner or shadow in the inner corners of the eye (the V around the tear ducts). This will instantly brighten and elongate the eyes.
- Shimmery Shadows
For small eyes, avoid dark shadows, which will close in the eyelids and make them appear heavy. Instead, use shimmery shades of white, beige, and gold to help reflect the light and open up the eyes.
- Divine Lines
The way you apply your eyeliner will make a huge difference in the outcome. Applying heavy black eyeliner may result in eyes that look even smaller. You can choose to line the outer two thirds of the lids and wing it out, beyond the outer corners. This will lift and widen the eyes. Navy is a great alternate to black, and makes the whites of the eye look brighter. Even if you use black on top, be sure to steer clear from rimming the bottom in a kohl color.
- Magic of Mascara
After curling your lashes, you can coat them with lengthening and volumizing mascara for a wide-eye effect. Place most of the attention on the center of the upper lash line to draw the eyes upward. Remember to coat the bottom lashes as well, for the ultimate doe eyed look
- Light Lips
To keep the focus on the eyes, use a light- or medium-shade lip color. This will allow your eyes to stand out, as opposed to competing with your lips.
