On Tuesday night, December 20, community women flocked to Congregation Od Yosef Chai for the annual night of gratitude celebration. This year, the event was in memory of Rabbi Zechariah Wallerstein z”l. The first 50 attendees received a free copy of the new book, It’s All About Change: Stories and Insights from Rabbi Zechariah Wallerstein zt”l.
On Tuesday evening, December 6, Rabbi Steven Pruzansky, activist, author, Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Bnai Yeshurun of Teaneck, New Jersey, and Vice President for the Israel Region of the Coalition for Jewish Values, shared an informative, fascinating virtual speech about the Israeli elections: what happened and what is ahead.
On Sunday afternoon, December 18, Hatzolah of Queens and Great Neck celebrated the donation of a new Hatzolah ambulance, Q902, to join its fleet. The new bus will be housed at the Yeshiva of Central Queens in the existing area that has long been dedicated for Hatzolah’s usage. To celebrate this occasion, a large group of community leaders, elected officials, and community members surrounded the new Hatzolah ambulance on 78th Drive, just off of 138th Street, for a splendid induction ceremony in front of the home of esteemed philanthropists Bernie and Chaya Shafran.
On Sunday morning, December 4, Mrs. Dina Schoonmaker, teacher, lecturer, and relationship counselor at Michlalah Jerusalem, shared a live shiur at Congregation Nachlas Yitzchok.
It was with great anticipation that the entire Queens community awaited the 38th annual Erna Lindenfeld Hachnosas Kallah Tea. After two years of celebrating the annual tea on Zoom, everyone was thrilled to meet together in person at the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills on Monday evening, December 5. The tea has been a Queens hallmark event for decades, providing our community and beyond with the opportunity to give tz’dakah to an incredibly worthy cause while enjoying incredible entertainment.
On Tuesday evening, December 6, the Navigating the Medical System Lecture Series presented a virtual lecture on nutrition with Anna Delapaz, MS, RD, nutritionist for NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Queens.
