On Monday evening, November 14, more than 100 world-renowned food personalities, cookbook authors, chefs, foodies, and brand representatives ate the night away at Manhattan’s Le Marais restaurant. Chef and cookbook author Jose Meirelles created an exclusive menu especially for the event. The dinner was complemented with a wine pairing and spirits tasting by experienced sommeliers Shlomo Blashka and Gabe Geller of Royal Wine Corporation. The evening was co-produced by popular lifestyle blogger and brand consultant (and Kew Gardens Hills resident) Esti Berkowitz of primetimeparenting.com and Roberta Scher, executive editor of top kosher food and recipe website KosherEye.com. The dinner is held the night before Kosherfest, the world’s largest kosher-certified products trade show.
Attendees included many of the pioneers and cutting edge luminaries of the kosher food industry. Mordy Herzog, founder of Kosher.com, presented exciting news about the upcoming launch of this new groundbreaking website, which is set to revolutionize, enhance, and expand the online offerings for those focused on kosher. Guests were shown an exclusive video of the type of cooking videos that will feature on the site.
This year’s dinner was preceded by a panel of experts sharing insights into expanding an online audience and attracting the press. The “Media Mavens” included Miriam Pascal of Overtime Cook, Juda Engelmayer of Herald Strategies, Esty Wolbe of “I don’t cook but I give out recipes”; Eileen Goltz of Konfidentially Kosher.com, Esti Berkowitz, Social Media Strategist and founder of lifestyle blog, primetimeparenting.com; and moderator for the panel and the evening, popular radio personality Naomi Nachman, host of Table for Two.
The program also included a special award presentation to food professionals who have made important contributions to the world of kosher.

Mendel Segal – Mendel aka RaBBi-Q has become a barbecue sensation since he started “smokin’” meat shortly after he moved to Kansas City in 2007.
Paula Shoyer – is the author of three cookbooks and a celebrated cooking and baking instructor. Paula’s recipes have been featured in newspapers, magazines, websites, and blogs, and on radio and TV shows all over the United States, Canada, Israel, and even Asia.
Eitan Bernath is a Rising Culinary Star – At age 14, he has appeared on the Food Network and has a popular website and Facebook presence.
Shlomo Blashka – is the wine and spirits expert for Royal Wine and Kedem. He has presented his selections at KosherFEAST for the past six years.
Due to the generosity of the attendees, funds from the evening’s proceeds and the raffle are being donated to The Kind Kitchen, a Florida organization that supports families in crisis.
