MTA welcomed students back for the 5787 school year with a renewed sense of energy, growth, and excitement for the year ahead. The new school year brings new faces, expanded opportunities, and several new roles designed to strengthen the academic, spiritual, and student-life experience at MTA.
The MTA family is excited to welcome a talented group of dynamic rebbeim, including Rabbi Dovid Einhorn (Passaic), Rabbi Asher Finkelstein (MTA ’15, Washington Heights), Rabbi Yosef Fried (Monsey), Rabbi Yonatan Kosowsky (Bergenfield), and Rabbi Aharon Teigman (Bergenfield).
On the General Studies side, Dr. David Roher (MTA ’87, Teaneck) joins MTA as Director of the Learning Center, Ms. Sari Joskovitch joins the Ivrit Department, and Mr. Shmuli Stern takes on the role of Athletic Director and JV Hockey Coach.
Several returning faculty members have also stepped into expanded leadership roles. Rabbi Yitzchak Kaminetsky returns as 11th Grade Dean and rebbe, Rabbi Chaim Axelrod becomes Ninth Grade Dean, and Rabbi Shua Pariser takes on an expanded role as Director of Student Activities and machashavah rebbe.
This year also marks an exciting expansion of MTA’s Beis Midrash Katan (BMK) program, which now includes two dedicated Tenth Grade BMK shiurim led by Rav Shimon Kerner and Menahel Rabbi Shimon Schenker. The program provides students with an additional framework for learning, chazarah, and personal growth beyond the regular yeshivah day. Participants commit to maintaining strong academic standards, participating in two weekly Night Seder sessions, and actively engaging in Yeshiva Fellowship, which features a weekly shiur by Moreinu HaRav Hershel Schachter shlita. Thursday night Mishmar serves as the centerpiece of the program, featuring weekly review of the week’s Bekiyus with Rav Asher Finkelstein and other MTA rebbeim and Shoalim U’Meishivim, along with a weekly chaburah and enhanced ruchniyus programming.
Together, these new additions and expanded opportunities reflect MTA’s ongoing commitment to providing our talmidim with an exceptional yeshivah experience, one that challenges them to grow in Torah, inspires them to develop as individuals, and gives them a strong sense of belonging to the MTA community. With a talented and dedicated faculty and an ever-expanding range of opportunities, MTA looks forward to a year of continued growth, achievement, and meaningful experiences for every talmid.
