The Nikolsburger dynasty is steeped in chinuch. In Kew Gardens Hills, a new Rabbi Jungreis has taken over the helm of a special Pre-1A class at Yeshiva Ketana Zichron Chaim U’Bina of Queens. The boys enjoyed many recent activities, playing together as teamwork and sharing skills were mastered. The talmidim even had the opportunity to feverishly dance in a leibedik circle with their Menahel and Principal, Rabbi Benjamin Kessler, in honor of the chag.

For many years, Rabbi Yitzchok Dov Jungreis’ brother, Rabbi Usher Anshel, infused the YKQ Pre1-A talmidim with an energetic warmth and appreciation for Hashem. Following YKQ tradition, fresh zeal continues to inspire the new crop of young blossoming minds. At the 2022 YKQ Annual Dinner, Rabbi Usher Anshel and his wife were honored for their years of bringing wholesome chinuch to Queens. Under the auspices of their illustrious parents, Rav and Reb. Mordechai Zev Jungreis, Nikolsburger Rebbe of Boro Park and Woodbourne, the brothers infused a love like no other for Hashem and His Torah. The Rebbe was a longtime m’chaneich at Brooklyn’s Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin, and today Rav Usher Anshel continues to infuse the bachurim with a passion for the mitzvos and Yiddishkeit. The Rebbe’s magnetic pull is felt at his beis midrash at 4912 16th Avenue, where he hosts an evening kollel.

Famously known for assuming the summer rabbanus at Woodbourne’s B’nai Israel Synagogue, the Catskill’s shul has had stunning utilization ever since. The Jungreis’ enthusiasm heavily follows in the spirit of Rabbi Yeshaye Steiner zt”l, the Kerestirer Rebbe, lovingly known as Reb Shayaleh Kerestirer, who was niftar in 1925.
