On October 7, Rambam welcomed two Israel Defense Forces soldiers through Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) for the first of two assemblies marking the anniversary of the October 7 attacks. Students, teachers, staff, and administrators gathered to hear the soldiers reflect on their service and the responsibilities of defending Israel.

An Israeli soldier and a British lone soldier shared their experiences serving in the IDF and offered a glimpse into daily life in the military. Their accounts helped students better understand the challenges faced by those serving to protect Israel and its people.

Students also had the opportunity to ask questions and hear directly from the soldiers about their experiences. An FIDF representative spoke about the organization’s work supporting IDF soldiers.

The visit gave the Rambam community a chance to hear firsthand from those who serve and protect Israel. The soldiers’ stories and answers offered students and staff a new perspective and a greater appreciation for those who put themselves at risk to protect the Jewish people. Thank you to those who serve to defend Israel and to FIDF for supporting them.
