As Pesach draws near, Queens Cheder, nestled in the heart of our community, has been a hub of activity. As we look back on the recent weeks, we find ourselves filled with a deep sense of satisfaction and gratitude for the significant milestones reached in our Yom Tov preparations.

The notable visit of Rabbi Yitzchak Kolodetsky shlit”a from Eretz Yisrael infused our talmidim with inspiration and excitement. Rabbi Kolodetsky, son-in-law of the Sar HaTorah, Rav Chaim Kanievsky ztk”l, shared Pesach insights and quizzed the boys on brachot that were responded to with confidence. The rabbi did not leave until ensuring that every talmid received a personal brachah given with heartfelt warmth, leaving an indelible mark.

This month, Queens Cheder proudly launched the annual Kimcha D’Pischah campaign, now in its second season. Thanks to the generosity of donors, close to 1,000 pounds of handmade shmurah matzah was subsidized for local recipients. This was part of our vision to ensure local families receive the best quality matzot both in taste and in kashrut. Baruch Hashem, we were able to service over 100 local families.

Our reach extended to address the broader needs of local families by collaborating with Met Council to for a pre-Pesach essential food distribution. The Met Council team was deeply inspired by the works and mission of the Queens Cheder and generously agreed to provide nutritional food supplements launched ahead of Pesach, providing essential produce to over 85 Queens families.

Those who thought that getting together to bake matzot is something reserved for commercial matzah bakeries and a handful of community members were pleasantly surprised when Queens Cheder facilitated a matzah chaburah at a Brooklyn facility. Participants baked their own matzot and really felt the spirit of the chag as observed by our ancestors.

As part of the ongoing commitment to excellence in education, Queens Cheder proudly announced the opening of a parallel class for 4K students. This class is in direct response to a growing demand, popularity, and interest in Queens Cheder. This expansion reflects our dedication to providing high-quality limudei kodesh and general studies curriculums, together with an individualized approach for every talmid.

Queens Cheder remains focused on building a strong foundation by nurturing and educating the next generation of talmidei chachamim and simultaneously remaining committed to the spiritual needs of the community. With tremendous gratitude to Hashem, we ask for continued siyata DiShmaya and wish everyone a chag kasher v’sameach.
