This week, MTA came together to mark Sharsheret Pink Week, dedicating meaningful time and energy to raising awareness and standing in support of those affected by breast and ovarian cancer. What began as a themed week quickly became a powerful expression of achrayus and care across our entire yeshivah.
Recognizing the importance of Pink Day, MTA broadened the initiative into a comprehensive Pink Week, allowing our talmidim to connect more deeply to the cause. Throughout the week, culminating in Pink Day on February 11, our talmidim learned about the profound impact of Sharsheret and how our community can actively support individuals and families facing illness. The programming was designed not only to inform, but to inspire meaningful action.
The week’s events reflected that spirit. A schoolwide Pickleball Tournament brought friendly competition to the court, with participants proudly wearing special MTA Pink Day dri-fit polos. At the same time, a Learn-a-thon filled the Beis Midrash with focused Torah study, as talmidim dedicated their learning in the z’chus of a r’fuah sh’leimah for those battling illness.
We were especially honored to welcome Shlomo Mirsky, MTA alumnus and son of Rochie Shoretz, the founder of Sharsheret. His words gave personal depth to the organization’s mission and helped our talmidim understand the real lives and families impacted by its work.
Throughout the week, a Canteen for a Cause provided another opportunity to give back, with all proceeds directed to Sharsheret. Students and faculty members wore pink, purchased MTA pink and white Sharsheret kippahs, and participated enthusiastically in programming thoughtfully organized by our Sharsheret Pink Committee.
