On Wednesday, November 4, at Shevach High School, the excitement in the air was palpable, as the Ruach Committee introduced their theme of the year: “Colors.” The Ruach heads – Leyam Badalov, Neshama Fedowitz, Shaina Huzarsky, and Rivka Lavian – under the direction of Shevach Educational Administrator Mrs. Devorah Kovitz, performed an original song and dance for the girls that had all the girls up and dancing.
After enjoying the singing, every girl received a red or blue mask necklace imprinted with Ruach’s logo. The feeling enjoyed by all was: “We can’t wait to see what’s in store!” In the words of the Ruach heads, “We are REaDy to have fun with Ruach 5781.”
True to everyone’s high expectations, the very next day, on Thursday, November 5, the Shevach students were treated to a gala, interactive concert, featuring renowned singer Bracha Jaffe. The atmosphere was electric as songs filled the room and the girls sang and danced in tandem with Ms. Jaffe. The first songs were familiar and popular songs, which only increased the momentum. But then Ms. Jaffe introduced new songs that she taught the girls, bringing the excitement level to a new high. A great time was clearly had by all!
