Launching in Fall 2024, The YU in Israel program features yearly tuition of only $17,500.

YU in Israel combines the rich Yeshiva University beit midrash environment with a specially designed curriculum between Yeshiva University and Tel Aviv University (TAU) or Bar-Ilan University (BIU). The new Yeshiva University in Israel program earns students one of two YU degrees that prepare them to enter an ever-more-competitive global job market and continue their Jewish learning in a substantial and serious manner. The rigorous coursework—taught in English—will complement YU’s world-class Torah studies, elite academics, rich student life and comprehensive student services.

The daily schedule will be based on YU’s signature model of Torah studies and academic classes, while campus life will be filled with cultural enrichment that will deepen connections with the land of Israel and engaging student activities and extracurricular programs, both during the week and on Shabbat.

“We are excited to offer this unique educational opportunity,” said Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of Yeshiva University. “Especially at this moment in Jewish history, many of our incoming students prefer to continue their studies in Israel. This program provides a new portal of entry to Israel for the next generation who are interested in top tier Torah study, excellent academics and a vibrant student life of living and studying in Israel”.

The academic curriculum is specifically designed for YU students in partnership with these acclaimed Israeli institutions. Through YU in Israel, students can earn a degree in Business while taking courses at TAU or a degree in Psychology and Multidisciplinary Jewish Studies with BIU.

The schedule includes one or two days a week on the BIU or TAU campus, online courses, and Torah studies featuring classes in Tanach, Halacha, and Jewish thought, as well as a beit midrash option with chavruta learning, all at the Chorev campus. Women will live on a campus, set on a hillside overlooking the heart of Jerusalem. Students will have the opportunity to take Ulpan, explore Israel through educational trips and seminars, and gain access to the community of Yeshiva University Olim in Israel who will mentor them on how to develop their careers and integrate into Israeli society.

Additionally, the pioneering program features a remarkably attractive tuition requirement of only $17,500 for the year. The program is suitable for alumni of YU-affiliated seminary programs.

“The uniqueness of this program is that it provides women with an open and serious beit midrash with dynamic and comprehensive Torah learning throughout the day,” noted Rabbanit Shani Taragin, Women’s Torah Studies Rosh Beit Midrash. “Beginning with daily “morning seder,” Torah classes, “night seder,” and replete with phenomenal teachers, the YUI Beit Medrash will foster a vital passion and connection to Torat Hashem in Eretz Yisrael.”
