Chazaq hosted its Second Annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament this past weekend, bringing together 24 competitive teams and hundreds of enthusiastic attendees for a fun-filled, family-friendly event that celebrated sports, community, and purpose.

The day featured more than just basketball. Families enjoyed face-painting, balloon animals, and activities that made it a great experience for all ages. Zevi Samet, a Yeshiva University star player, was a special guest who made a major impact. He ran a skills clinic for kids, teaching basketball fundamentals and motivating young players with hands-on coaching. He also signed autographs and delivered a powerful speech on the life-changing work Chazaq is doing: having now helped transition over 1,900 students from public school to yeshivah in more than 20 different locations.

The tournament itself saw each team play four 15-minute games before entering a tiered single-elimination playoff. The championship game featured a thrilling showdown between the #2-seeded Team Orbach and #3-seeded Nationwide Advance.

In a dramatic finish, Ben Abizadeh of Team Orbach hit a buzzer-beating layup, securing a 41-40 win and the $3,000 grand prize.

Chazaq extends a heartfelt thank you to the generous sponsors who made this event possible: Mitchell & Karen Kuflik, R&N Shidduch Chat, Centers Urgent Care, Law Offices of Aaron Katsman, Yakubov NP Medical, JSL, Margaret Tietz, Aryeh & Co, and the Queens Jewish Link.
