Kulanu Center for Special Services proudly celebrated the opening of its new Kulanu Center for Adult Services with a joyous Chanukat Habayit (Dedication of the Home) ceremony attended by community leaders, supporters, board members, staff, and friends.
The event marked a significant milestone in Kulanu’s ongoing mission to provide meaningful opportunities, support, and community inclusion for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The new center will serve as a hub for a range of adult services, including Day Habilitation, Pre-Vocational and employment-focused programming, that support greater independence and inclusion.
Guests gathered to tour the facility and celebrate the achievement. The ceremony featured remarks from Kulanu leadership and supporters who shared in the excitement of this important expansion of services.
“We are not simply opening a building; we are opening new opportunities,” said Michael Appelbaum, Executive Director of Kulanu Center for Special Services. “This center represents our commitment to ensuring that every individual we serve has access to programs, experiences, and relationships that promote dignity, independence, and belonging.”
Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, Dr. Beth Raskin, Founding Executive Director of Kulanu, said, “The opening of the Kulanu Center for Adult Services represents a commitment to ensuring that individuals with developmental disabilities continue to have opportunities for growth, purpose, and connection throughout their adult lives. I am proud to be part of an organization that recognizes the potential in every person and works tirelessly to build programs that promote dignity, independence, and community.”
Kulanu extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to making this vision a reality and looks forward to the opportunities this new center will create for adults throughout the community.
