In this week’s parshah, we follow the beginning of Yosef HaTzadik’s challenging journey. From being the beloved son of Yaakov Avinu to being thrown into a bor and sold into slavery, Yosef’s life changes in an instant. Yet the Torah reveals something extraordinary: Even in the darkest moments, “Vayehi Hashem es Yosef” (B’reishis 39:2).

Hashem’s presence accompanies him in the house of Potifar, and again in the prison: “Vayar Adonav ki Hashem ito” (39:3). Despite isolation, confusion, and pain, Yosef maintains his inner emunah, his k’dushah, and his constant awareness of Hashem.

We all experience moments that feel like a bor – times that are overwhelming, uncertain, or difficult to understand. Parshas VaYeishev reminds us that what looks like a setback can be the beginning of a y’shuah. The path that took Yosef down was the very path that lifted him up.

When life feels heavy or confusing, pause and turn to Hashem with sincere t’filah. A kapitel of T’hilim, a quiet moment of bitachon, can bring light even into a bor. Just as Hashem was with Yosef in every stage of his journey, He is with each of us – preparing y’shuos long before we see them.

May our t’filos this week bring r’fuos, y’shuos, and m’nuchas ha’nefesh to all of klal Yisrael.
