Parshas T’rumah begins with Hashem’s request: “And they shall make for Me a Sanctuary, and I will dwell among them.” The verse does not say “in it,” but “among them.” This teaches that Hashem’s true dwelling place is not only in a building, but in the heart of every Jew.
Each person gave a t’rumah, a contribution from the heart. It wasn’t the size of the gift that mattered, but the willingness. When we open our hearts through prayer, T’hilim, and acts of kindness, we create a place for the Divine Presence to rest within us.
As we say T’hilim (20, 22, 121, 130, 142), may our prayers be that personal t’rumah, bringing healing to those in need and protection to our precious soldiers. May we merit to feel Hashem’s presence within each one of us.
