HANC High School continues to demonstrate excellence in learning in both Limudei Kodesh and General Studies classes. This week, Rabbi Daniel Mezei’s BMP Chumash classes were treated to a hands-on lesson exploring the kosher signs of the animals and birds.

A cow’s hoof demonstrated to the students the concept a completely split hoof. Students studied the structure of bird claws and dissected turkey gizzards to uncover the meaning of an extra finger and a gizzard that peels (two of the signs of a kosher bird). This brought to life all that the students were learning through the text.
