On Wednesday, November 9, Assembly Member Daniel Rosenthal and Council Member James F. Gennaro co-hosted the annual Veterans Day Luncheon at Queens College in Kew Gardens Hills honoring our nation’s brave men and women in uniform – the veterans who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms. The event celebrated World War II combat veteran Arthur Grabiner.

Queens leads New York City serving as a home for 46,000 of the city's 138,088 veterans.

"It was a privilege to spend time at Queens College and recognize the service of our selfless veterans," noted Rosenthal. "Thank you to all the brave men and women who heeded the call this Veterans Day."

"I’d like to personally thank all of our veterans, and take a moment to acknowledge your strength and bravery," said Gennaro. While there is nothing I can do to ever repay the debt that is owed to you, know that you have my unwavering support and I am forever grateful for your service and all you have done for this country."

The legislators paid respects and sent thoughts and prayers to the families of our fallen heroes who perished while defending our freedoms during conflict.
