The Pesach Prep Program is underway at the Bais Yaakov Academy of Queens! The program encourages the girls to help out with Pesach preparations. The program was introduced on Tuesday to grades 1-8 by Mrs. Taub, dressed as a cleaning lady, and singing the catchy Pesach Prep song to the tune of Dayeinu!

The Pesach Prep Program is one of our most popular programs, especially amongst mothers! (Any wonder why?) Each student received a Pesach Prep calendar and was asked to fill in the number of minutes per day that she helps to get ready for Pesach. Any activity that makes preparing for Pesach easier for parents can be included in the program minutes. Some examples are cleaning, babysitting, helping in the kitchen/cooking, shopping with derech eretz and patience (not kvetching), keeping occupied and not disturbing when a parent is busy (for younger students), packing to go away, etc. Helping can be done for neighbors, friends, and relatives, as well.

Each grade is allotted a minimum number of minutes that the students are expected to help out. Any student who reaches that amount is invited to a very exciting show after Pesach, featuring the spectacular Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team!

The program is a great incentive to encourage the girls to seek out ways to help make Pesach preparations easier and more enjoyable for their parents. We are very proud of everyone’s participation in this program!
