In honor of Yom HaShoah, the students of Bnos Malka Academy’s sixth through eighth grades had the special privilege of hearing from Mr. Ephraim Berger, grandfather of sixth grader Aliza Tropper. Mr. Berger shared the extraordinary and moving story of his parents’ survival during the horrors of the Shoah. He recounted the miraculous escape of his father, who crossed a bridge to safety just moments before it was blown up. Mr. Berger also spoke about his mother’s incredible resilience, surviving the unimaginable conditions of Auschwitz alongside a group of relatives.

The students listened with rapt attention, gaining a deeper, personal understanding of this dark chapter in Jewish history. Events like these ensure that the memory of the Holocaust lives on, as each new generation hears firsthand the stories of courage, faith, and survival.
