The new z’man at Yeshiva Tiferet Tzion boys’ mesivta began with a strong sense of purpose as talmidim returned with enthusiasm for learning, personal growth, and connection. From the first days back, the yeshivah has been filled with the steady hum of Torah and the warmth of a true yeshivah family. Menahel Rabbi Moshe Aharonov noted that both returning and new students have settled in smoothly and are already contributing to a productive and uplifting environment.
Throughout the opening weeks, talmidim have embraced their sedarim, reconnected with their rebbeim, and set goals for the year ahead. The yeshivah continues to focus on developing well-rounded b’nei Torah grounded in learning, yir’as Shamayim, strong middos, and responsibility. Parents remain valued partners in this mission, and the yeshivah expresses appreciation for their steady support and involvement as the year unfolds.
This season has also brought several joyful s’machos within the YTT family, including the recent and upcoming weddings of alumni Yakov Baybachayev, Bentzion Chai Boruhov, Daniel Shemanov, and Zev Khiyaev. These milestones reflect the yeshivah’s ongoing connection to its graduates, many of whom continue to learn with and seek guidance from their rebbeim long after leaving the building.

Inside the yeshivah, the commitment to learning is clear. Mishmor sessions have been energetic and focused, with talmidim speaking out in learning alongside their rebbeim. Students are equally engaged in their secular studies, and the yeshivah encourages a balanced approach that includes recreational outlets such as swimming, ping-pong, and gym activities.
Before Yom Kippur, the boys received inspiring words of chizuk from Harav Yigal Haimoff, shlit”a. The yeshivah extends heartfelt condolences to the Rav on the recent loss of his mother. YTT rebbeim and bochurim visited to be menachem avel, demonstrating the depth of the relationships that form within the yeshivah. Shortly afterward, Rabbi Rappaport brought a group of talmidim to visit Harav Lazer Ginsburg, shlit”a, in Flatbush, offering another opportunity for meaningful guidance.
The weekly Tuesday Night Alumni Shiur delivered by Rabbi Aharonov continues to draw graduates who maintain a strong connection to their rebbeim. Recently, alumni helped the yeshivah acquire new desks and chairs for rebbeim and teachers, enhancing the learning environment and reflecting the enduring bond between past and present talmidim.
The story of Yeshiva Tiferet Tzion itself is one of vision, determination, and community-building. The yeshivah officially opened its doors in 2013, but the seeds were planted a year earlier, when talmidim of Rabbi Aharonov—young men he had previously sent to various yeshivos—settled in Queens as newly married members of a rapidly growing community. They yearned for their rebbe to join them and help shape the next generation. Their goal was clear: establish a makom Torah rooted in mainstream Yiddishkeit, offering boys the tools to live consistent, well-balanced, and spiritually grounded lives that would build their identity for years to come. Their dream became reality, and now, over a decade later, the yeshivah is flourishing, producing alumni who are building their own families, entering fields of learning and parnassah, and contributing meaningfully to the larger community.

Just in the past two weeks alone, YTT alumni celebrated four weddings and multiple births — tangible evidence of the yeshivah’s enduring impact. “This is not just about the four years of high school,” Rabbi Aharonov explained. “It’s about relationships for life. The boys come back to learn, to schmooze, to ask questions, to share milestones. This is a family.” Rabbi Aharonov often summarizes this philosophy with a guiding principle: consistency builds stability, and stability builds identity — a foundation that anchors a talmid throughout his future as a husband, father, and leader in the community.
Yeshiva Tiferet Tzion continues to thrive because it is more than a school. It is a home, a makom Torah, and a lifelong source of strength and guidance. As the year progresses and the boys continue to grow, the yeshivah remains committed to its mission of shaping well-balanced, healthy-minded b’nei Torah who will carry the values they gain here into every stage of their lives.
