MTA welcomed its freshman families to the annual Freshman Family Breakfast this past Sunday, with a room packed with parents and talmidim coming together for a morning filled with warmth, ruach, and MTA pride. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for freshman families to connect with one another and experience firsthand the close-knit community that makes MTA so special.
Families enjoyed a delicious breakfast before being welcomed by Principal Rabbi Daniel Konigsberg, who shared opening remarks. Freshman Grade Dean Rabbi Axelrod then introduced freshman William Moskovitz, who delivered a beautiful d’var Torah to set the tone for the morning.

The excitement continued with a spirited game of Panoply, led by MTA’s Director of Student Activities, Rabbi Shua Pariser, together with Rabbi Konigsberg. Parents and talmidim teamed up for some friendly competition, filling the room with laughter, energy, and plenty of MTA spirit.
Menahel Rabbi Shimon Schenker addressed the families with a meaningful d’var Torah, reinforcing the values and sense of connection at the heart of the MTA experience. He also expressed appreciation to the generous sponsors who helped make the morning possible.

Following the announcement of the winning Panoply team, each family received an MTA cooler tote bag and car magnet, a reminder that they are now part of the larger MTA family.
More than just a breakfast, the morning reflected MTA’s commitment to building lasting relationships not only with the talmidim but with their families as well. It was a wonderful way to strengthen the bonds of the freshman class and celebrate the beginning of what promises to be an exciting four years together at MTA!
