Last week, IVDU LI launched a new karate class led by Master Eli of Pakua Long Island (in Hewlett, New York). The oldest class began a yearlong program, which will be held weekly and will cover the basic elements of karate.
They learned new moves, practiced kicking with blocking pads and even played a variation of “Simon Says” to drill the new moves. The martial arts class will complement the whole-child approach that IVDU LI takes with each student, and has set out ambitious goals to address gross motor skills, self-confidence, focus, and discipline in a sensory-enriched and fun environment.
