Colors: Blue Color

The esteemed Rabbi Yigal Haimoff visited YSZ elementary school to give chizuk and beautiful brachos to the talmidim and talmidos as they embark on a new school year. Rabbi Haimoff was welcomed by rebbeim, teachers, and students as he toured the different divisions of the school with Rabbi Ephraim Ben Mordechai, Menahel, and Rabbi Avraham Fridman, Principal.

Parshas Noach was taught extensively in the classrooms at IVDU Five Towns, with our rebbe and teachers teaching the students across all classes about the animals that Noach brought onto the teivah. In order to bring that experience to life, IVDU Five Towns had a petting zoo come, where the students were able to feed and touch the animals. The children got to experience firsthand what Noach had to do, keeping busy and taking care of the animals’ needs. At IVDU Five Towns, the children gain a tremendous amount of learning in the classroom, but it is equally important for them to gain the knowledge while experiencing things hands-on outside of the classroom, as well.

This week, MTA 9th graders got their first taste of a special program that pairs 12th-grade talmidim together with 9th-grade counterparts. The pairs meet several times throughout the year to learn together, and the relationships become one of mentorship and guidance as the 12th graders share their experiences and insights with their chavrusas.

The Bnos Malka Middle School had the honor of hearing from Mrs. Shulamith Insel, Principal of Shevach High School, in honor of Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan. Mrs. Insel shared a remarkable, perhaps hidden, strength to the month of Cheshvan. Without any yamim tovim, we call the month MarCheshvan. Yet this month is infused with a special koach with a deep reservoir of all the t’filos of klal Yisrael from the month of Tishrei.

The beginning of the fall semester is an exciting time at Central, a period of introduction during which students form new friendships and cultivate new interests. It’s also a period of introduction in the classroom, when teachers set the tone for the year with activities that will inspire.
