Around 200 community members filled the Young Israel of Queens Valley (YIQV) main sanctuary in Kew Gardens Hills this past Sunday evening, February 15. The Ray of Hope program brought together rabbanim, mental health professionals, educators, and community leaders for an open conversation addressing mental health, trauma, and healing within the Orthodox Jewish community.

Winter break was a time of relaxation and inspiration for dedicated Emet Outreach students. Last month, the Women’s Division led two memorable trips: to California and to Miami. These visits were not simply vacations, but each featured a full schedule of motivational speakers, meaningful learning, scenic excursions, comfortable accommodations, an uplifting Shabbos, and the opportunity for friendship.

Last Tuesday was the second installment in Agudah’s three-part advocacy mission to Albany. This week’s mission consisted of delegates from Queens and Long Island who traveled to meet with their legislators and discuss issues facing their communities.

On Sunday, February 8, during the Super Bowl halftime show, the annual Halftime for Torah program offered an inspiring Torah-focused alternative to the traditional halftime entertainment. Conceived by Rabbi Eytan Feiner, Rav of Congregation Kneseth Israel (the White Shul) in Far Rockaway, the event has run every year since 2019, providing meaningful inspiration coordinated by Chazaq.

This past Saturday night, R&N hosted a singles event at American Dream. The night started with choosing from a variety of activities, including ice skating, laser tag, arcade games, and Activate.

Parshas T’rumah begins with Hashem’s request: “And they shall make for Me a Sanctuary, and I will dwell among them.” The verse does not say “in it,” but “among them.” This teaches that Hashem’s true dwelling place is not only in a building, but in the heart of every Jew.
