For more than two years and more than $25 million of taxpayer’s money, the country has been taunted with the notion that President Trump was in collusion with the Russians with regard to the 2016 elections. The Democrats had hoped that the findings of the Mueller investigation would prove the president unfit for office and impeachment proceedings would take place. But the Mueller report found no such thing. Despite the 448 pages explaining this, the Democrats went at it again this past Wednesday with hearings by the Judiciary and Intelligence Committees of the House of Representatives. Democrats had hoped Robert Mueller would say that he would have charged President Trump with obstruction of justice were it not for Justice Department guidance instructing that a sitting president may not be indicted. But Robert Mueller was not up to the task. He was seen stumbling through questions and at times unclear about the contents of his own much-heralded report. Harvard Law Professor Laurence Tribe said, “Far from breathing life into his damning report, the tired Robert Mueller sucked the life out of it.”
Democrats have been consumed and have done nothing but peddle baseless investigations at a great expense to the American taxpayers instead of tackling the issues Americans have told us are a priority to them. They want the southern border crisis remedied, immigration reform, healthcare relief, control of the opioid crisis, and a resolution to the growing homeless situation. The American people are tired of the House Democrats who refuse to accept the results of the 2016 election. President Trump is our duly elected leader and it’s time to get over their loss.
But the Democrats won’t let go. Speaker Nancy Pelosi said at a private meeting, “This presidency is an existential threat to our democracy and our country as we know it.”
The Mueller report was clear: no obstruction, no collusion. No matter what, House investigators say their inquiries into possible obstruction of justice will go on. The Democrats are willing to say and do anything to keep this issue alive. They are so invested in this narrative.
Republicans have been rightfully asking about how the Russia investigations began. Robert Mueller refused to discuss this among other things at the Wednesday hearing. But we now have the US attorney from Connecticut, John Durham, to examine the backstory, including all intelligence collection activities related to the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election, alleged misconduct, and alleged improper government surveillance.
I was terribly troubled by the Mueller testimony. Mueller seemed ill-informed about his own report, and it was obvious that his surrogates wrote the 448-page report. But these subordinates were avowed Trump-haters, putting the whole report in question of bias. So much money was wasted by the Mueller probe that could have gone for the public good.
Equally disturbing from our point of view was the fact that this whole hearing mess was being orchestrated by two Jews, Congressmen Jerold Nadler and Adam Schiff. Nadler has had a very long, antagonistic relationship with President Trump from his New York days, and Schiff has kept announcing on the Sunday news programs that he has the goods on Trump; but that did not materialize. Nadler and Schiff now have egg on their faces and they deserve it.
Naturally, the anti-Trump media is doing its best to pump oxygen into the event that was a “nothing burger.” NBC News ran the headline prior to the event that has made them look like fools, by saying, “Mueller hearings to highlight shocking evidence of criminal misconduct by Trump, Democrats say.”
President Trump is relieved and elated by Wednesday’s debacle. Trump attorney Jay Sekulow said in a statement, “The American people understand that this issue is over. They also understand that the case is closed.” Another Trump attorney, Rudy Giuliani, called the testimony “disastrous” for the Democrats. He said that with the Mueller testimony out of the way, it is time to move on.
According to Michael Goodwin of the New York Post, in debunking the much-anticipated bombshells, “The bombshells quickly proved to be duds.” According to Gov. Mike Huckabee, “The Democrats are desperate for Robert Mueller to appear credible in the eyes of the American people – but the former special counsel has already proven that he’s just another sleazy Washington politician with a biased agenda against President Trump. The great Mueller witch hunt will continue for one reason: Mueller (with the Democrats) doesn’t want the scandal to end.”
How much more of this nonsense can the American people endure? There are so many pressing problems that need solving. The Democrats must smarten up before 2020. Otherwise they will have to pay the consequences.
