Freaky Friday

Dear Editor:

Here it is, Friday, November 29, and I’m sitting at my breakfast table drinking coffee, eating my doughnut and $6.2-million banana, and writing this article. What? You’re all wondering why I’m not lining up in front of _____(Name the store) on Black Friday. I should be contributing to the US economy and purchasing items I don’t need but that are on sale.

I’m sorry, but there’s no way I’m waking up at 5 a.m., driving to whatever store, and standing on line in the frigid weather. You, of course, might be assuming that I’m at the computer purchasing a myriad of products. You’d be wrong again, since I don’t approach my computer unless I absolutely have to. Do I really need another sweater to hide the several (yea, right) pounds that I put on every winter? How about a quilted jacket? Well, obviously, I’ve done that before, since I have three similar looking winter jackets in my closet.

I could add a gadget to the numerous kitchen gadgets I own but don’t use; but then, in many cases, I’d have to trek down to the mikvah and be tovel them. How about that round thing (I can’t remember its name) that sweeps across your floors and cleans them. If I buy one of those, what do I do with the cleaning person? Do I really need more linen when I’m the only one using them? I already have three TVs (I guess I shouldn’t admit that). If only they had sukkos on sale at Target instead of Taylor Swift’s book!

Hunter’s Inevitable Pardon

Dear Editor:

In one of the least surprising moves of his Presidency, Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter from all the criminal activity he engaged in since 2014, when he started his job with Burisma, picking up bags of cash while peddling political influence under his father’s name. Biden, of course, for months promised us that he would respect the justice system and not pardon Hunter. NBC News reports that Biden had been considering pardoning his son since June, and that brazenly lying about it over and over again was a key part of his plan. The truth is that only a fool would have believed a pathological liar such as Biden. After all, Biden lied about growing up in the Puerto Rican community, attending the local church, mosque, and synagogue services on weekends, being captain of his high school football team, graduating with three undergraduate degrees, placing in the top half of his law school class, driving an 18-wheeler, and getting arrested with Nelson Mandela while attending a civil rights march, to name a few of his more mendacious claims.

Irrespective of Biden’s obvious lies regarding the inevitable pardon, the real tell that this was in the works occurred back in September when Hunter pled guilty in federal court to a nine-count indictment, including three felony tax offenses and six misdemeanor tax offenses. Defendants in these types of cases generally try to plead down some of the charges in exchange for admitting guilt on other charges. Not Hunter. He never asked for a plea agreement. He swallowed the entire indictment whole. It’s highly unusually defendant behavior....unless of course, you know the fix is in, because Daddy told you the pardon was in the bag.

The Method Behind The Madness

Dear Editor:

Warren Hecht wrote in his column last week that Donald Trump only picked cabinet members who will be loyal to him. The obvious inference is that this is bad. He further asserts that Trump’s cabinet picks are “all about him.” If Mr. Hecht just landed on Planet Earth and this was the first political event he witnessed, perhaps I could understand how he feels this way. Since he is either unaware of recent history or alternatively, believes recent history has no relevance to Trump’s cabinet picks, I will provide a public service and connect the dots here.

In 2016, the FBI used sensational and unsupported allegations about Trump and Russia to obtain a wiretap and spy on Trump’s campaign. After he was elected, the Russia collusion hoax clouded Trump’s entire presidency, with Democrats using it to paint Trump as an illegitimate president.

The deep state, working against Trump, constantly leaked negative information about Trump throughout his presidency, and Representative Adam “Pencil Neck” Schiff made nightly appearances on cable TV assuring us that the “walls were closing in on Trump” and all the damaging goods they had on Trump (which of course never materialized) were right around the corner. Even after the Mueller Report ostensibly exonerated Trump of the Russian hoax, it was “Mission Accomplished” for the deep state as they had muddied the waters enough to damage Trump politically.

Fast Forward to Trump’s latest campaign for President, and we had the Department of Justice weaponized on behalf of the Biden re-election campaign, launching unprecedented lawfare against the leading candidate for President by attempting to imprison him using four dubious criminal indictments. (Yes, technically two were state indictments, but there’s more than enough evidence showing DOJ coordinated behind the scenes in both the New York and Georgia cases.) With the FBI and DOJ used as Democratic political weapons to finish off Trump, is it any wonder then that, after Trump overcame seemingly insurmountable odds in his presidential campaign against Biden, Kamala, the FBI, the DOJ, and the fake news mainstream media, that he would seek to weed out the deep state partisan actors and instead hire individuals who wish to implement his legislative agenda?!

For those who still think the deep state is a conspiracy theory (including those naive enough to believe what they read on Wikipedia), I would remind you that Hunter’s laptop, the Covid lab leak, and Biden’s cognitive decline were all derided as “conspiracy theories” until of course they were all proven to be demonstrably true.

As early as 2018, an anonymous op-ed was published in The New York Times titled, “I am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration.” In the piece, this official stated that there was a “quiet resistance” inside the executive branch actively working to undermine the wishes of a duly elected president. He outright stated, “Many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda.” Despite this clear admission, the Left still accused Trump of promoting a conspiracy theory.

Trump now hiring people that Mr. Hecht terms “loyalists” is just common sense, and shows how much smarter Trump is this time around in not hiring permanent DC, deep state, career bureaucrats who would frustrate his legislative agenda yet again.

The Bad Orange Man Is Still Better Than The Alternative

Dear Editor:

Donald Trump’s electoral win in 2024 has something in common with his win in 2016. It was reactionary. The country collectively reacted to terrible governance and unpopular policy enactments.

In 2016, the country decided that an orange, reality TV show host was a much better alternative to what would have been a thord Obama term. And in 2024, after the insanity of the last four years, the country decided that “Orange Hitler” was a much better alternative to a continuation of the insanity.

Trump’s popularity was never enough to get him elected once, let alone twice. His hardcore base is probably in the high 30s. The public simply decided they want Trump’s agenda more than the insanity that Democrats were offering. Warren Hecht’s weekly complaints about Trump implementing his agenda comes off as sour grapes.

It’s Not A Surprise!

Dear Editor:

Warren Hecht is surprised that President-elect Donald Trump has appointed likeminded, loyal appointees. Would any other sane person do differently? And yes, they are qualified! Biden’s staff was based on color and quotas.

Joe Biden pardoned his son despite promising that he wouldn’t. Who would let his only surviving son rot in jail (where he belongs). After all he is a father!

Dear Editor:

In a backstabbing move only a Democrat can make, [New York State] Governor Hochul pushed forward the plan for congestion pricing in midtown Manhattan. She waited until after the elections, so none of her Democratic friends on the ballot would suffer any backlash at the outrage. She has a favorability below 35%.

This isn’t a policy that will only hurt Republicans. Thank goodness Trump won the election and this horrible policy will be reversed quickly. She has never been a champion of New Yorkers, as she is in favor of illegals coming here on the taxpayer’s dime and never pushed back on the no-cash-bail law.

It is very interesting that, suddenly, Democrats have a problem with RFK, Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard. Until fairly recently, both were Democrats. Now that they have left the Democratic Party, they are the enemy. In true Marxist fashion, history begins today. So regardless of whatever they have done in their past for the Democratic Party, it is as if it never happened. They have withstood the attacks and hopefully get confirmed to their cabinet posts.

If you want to know why CNN and MSNBC are going out of business, you just have to look at the “journalists” who are on those channels. The anti-Trump and racist rhetoric is ratcheted up to 1000.

This past week, they brought on Democratic Representatives to discuss President Trump’s cabinet picks. Why are they wasting their viewers’ time with stupidity? The House of Representatives plays no role in advice and consent of cabinet picks. Our constitution dictates that the role is solely for the Senate. So, who cares what a member of the House thinks about any of the picks? They can’t stop it whether they like the pick or not.

It is quite possible that some picks are not confirmed. RINO Senators Murkowski (Alaska), Collins (Maine), and McConnell (Kentucky) could derail a few of the confirmations. If that is the case, it will be up to VP Vance to be in attendance for the confirmation vote on the floor in order to break a 50-50 tie.

Let’s hope it does not come to this and all the picks, whether Mr. Hecht likes them or not, almost all superb, fly through, so we can get rolling in putting this country back on track to greatness and prosperity.
