You don’t have to be an expert to realize retailing is up against the ropes.  The industry has lost many thousands of employees, thousands of stores have already closed, and experts are warning that many thousands more could follow.  

Lots of people get upset when shopping at the supermarket because they feel they’re not getting enough bang for their buck.  Well, there’s the good news and bad news.  The good news is that they are actually getting more than they expect – a lot more.  The bad news is that most of it are things they don’t want - not even for free.

Food prices are already high, and experts predict they’ll go even higher.  Considering this the amount of food that’s wasted regularly is mind-boggling.     

Warren Buffett is arguably the most influential person on Wall Street, and investors hang onto his every word.  Some may even make investment decisions based on his opinions and observations.  

 Is New York City on a collision course with disaster?  Some very savvy observers believe it is.  Their opinion is important because if the city does collapse putting all the pieces together again will be both very difficult and very painful.      

Years ago, journalism was a respected profession.  A prominent journalist then was typically a blend of muckraker, public advocate, whistleblower, and protector of the weak - a mixture of Clark Kent and Perry Mason. Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but as a group, reporters, editors, and newscasters cared about the truth.  They tried to protect the public, wanted it to be informed, and in some cases risked their necks to break a good story.
