Innovation, a film capturing the depth and breadth of pioneering research across Yeshiva University, has earned a Silver Telly Award, one of the world’s premier honors recognizing excellence in video and television. The win marks YU’s fourth Telly Award and celebrates the University’s success in bringing those stories to life through compelling visual storytelling.

Created in collaboration with Imagination Creations, an award-winning New York video production company, Innovation highlights faculty and students whose work is expanding understanding, inspiring discovery and confronting some of today’s most pressing challenges. Across disciplines including mathematics, medicine, engineering and computer science, the film showcases the spirit of inquiry that drives the YU community.

Among the researchers featured are Professor Marian Gidea, who uses mathematical models to study asteroid trajectories and celestial motion; Professor Radhashree Maitra, whose research focuses on developing new treatments for colorectal cancer; and Professor Youshan Zhang, who is improving the artificial intelligence behind self-driving vehicles.

Innovation outlines the depth and breadth of pioneering research occurring at YU, including by Professor Honggang Wang on artificial intelligence.

“Winning a Telly Award is a tremendous honor, but the real story is the people on the screen,” said Aliza Berenholz Peled, Assistant Vice President of Events and Special Projects at Yeshiva University. “Our faculty and students are doing remarkable work, and we are grateful to Imagination Creations for helping us bring their stories to a wider audience.”

More than a collection of individual projects, Innovation reflects the curiosity, purpose and ambition that define Yeshiva University. Bringing that vision to the screen took years of dedication behind the camera.

“We are very proud of the partnership we have built with Yeshiva University,” said Ari Grunzeweig, creative director and CEO of Imagination Creations. “Since 2019, we have shared a mutual trust and respect that allows us to push the envelope of creativity while delivering on the University’s fundraising and admissions goals. Winning this award is a true testament to that partnership.”

Founded in 1979, the renowned Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens, drawing thousands of entries each year from advertising agencies, production companies and institutions across the globe. For Yeshiva University, the award recognizes both the creative achievement of Innovation and the community it portrays: one committed to asking bold questions, pursuing new discoveries and turning ideas into knowledge that can change the world.
