This week’s parshah, Parshas Pinchas, shows us how one person’s courage and mesirus nefesh can save an entire nation. Pinchas acted quickly and with pure yir’as Shamayim to stop a terrible sin that was causing a plague in klal Yisrael. Because of his z’chus, Hashem gave him a special promise: a “bris shalom,” a covenant of peace.
This teaches us that when we are willing to stand strong and do what is right for Hashem, He protects us and brings us peace. The parshah also tells us that Moshe appointed Yehoshua as the next leader to guide klal Yisrael into Eretz Yisrael, reminding us of the importance of strong leadership and faith.
May we all be zocheh to see y’shuos and r’fuos, and may our t’filos bring brachah and protection to klal Yisrael.
