An uplifting family-strengthening evening sponsored by Project Lead took place at Simcha Palace in Kew Gardens Hills, this past week. In attendance were nearly 100 young, accomplished professionals stemming from the Queens Bukharian Jewish community. Rabbi Yitzchok Young, noted educator, opened the event with poignant words to help people show sensitivity and uplift their spouses.
Rabbi Yitz Greenfield, renowned family therapist, delivered the event’s feature presentation on the importance of spending quality time with one’s spouse on a nightly basis. Rabbi Greenfield urged the guests to more significantly appreciate the noteworthy qualities of their spouses. Additionally, the educated professionals were charged with the concept that each individual is special and, moreover, that we must continue to persevere.
Rabbi Nir Aminov, Dean of Ner Mordechai Educational Institutions, concluded the evening with intellectual remarks on realizing one’s inner potential, and valuing oneself to better care about others.
“We have been working with young people for several decades,” noted Mrs. Miriam Friedman, Special Events Coordinator for Project Lead. “It is truly inspiring to see the many leadership positions that our program participants hold in the community. We are so proud of their wonderful accomplishments. Together we can all grow and inspire each other.”
Kudos are extended to the very talented Naama Asherova for coordinating the extremely successful program. Much appreciation is given to New York City Council Speaker Adrienne E. Adams, Council Member Lynn Schulman (Forest Hills, Rego Park, Kew Gardens, and Richmond Hill), and NYC’s Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD) for funding the initiative.
