School may be out, but the Emet Leaders Fellowship for college students is in full swing. The summer semester debuted recently at Congregation Beth El in Fresh Meadows. Participants enjoyed dinner followed by a group presentation, and then everyone broke into smaller groups for discussions.
Geared towards college students ages 19-22, the ten-class program will provide an introduction to Judaism and the opportunity to connect with like-minded friends. In addition to the classes, students will attend two inspiring Shabbatons. As part of the learning experience, students are eligible for separate girls’ and guys’ trips to Panama during winter break that will be led by Emet educators.
