This week, Bnos Malka Academy marked Yom HaAtzmaut with a heartwarming and creative assembly that focused on our deep connection to Eretz Yisrael: its beauty, meaning, and spiritual centrality to the Jewish people.
Students from all grades came together in mixed-age “families,” each working collaboratively to craft a unique scene of Yerushalayim. Using colored tissue paper, clear plastic, and Mod Podge, the groups created luminous, stained-glass-style artworks that depicted iconic elements of the holy city. When combined, these individual pieces formed a sweeping panoramic view of Yerushalayim: a shared vision brought to life by many hands and hearts.
The assembly also featured a specially produced video, including an animated feature of a family touring Eretz Yisrael and experiencing its beauty and k’dushah, followed by touching interviews with BMA students of all ages. In their own words, they expressed what they love about the land: its k’dushah, its history, and the deep sense of belonging they feel toward it.
The result was a meaningful, moving celebration that connected our students not only to each other, but to the eternal gift that is Eretz Yisrael.
