Mr. Tibor Kupferstein, a Holocaust survivor from Budapest, Hungary, spoke with the middle school students at the Bnos Malka Academy on Yom HaShoah. Mr. Kupferstein captured their attention with his incredible life story.
He described how he survived two death marches and the Mauthausen concentration camp. He even showed the students the pair of t’filin he was miraculously able to keep with him in the concentration camp. His indomitable spirit perhaps is what engaged the students and teachers the most. His pride in his family, children, and grandchildren are clearly a source of his remarkable simchas ha’chayim, despite all the hardships he has had to endure.
