Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan was celebrated in Shevach High School with a morning that included T’hilim, inspiration, and introspection coupled with a delicious breakfast for all the students.

In her after-school Jewelry classes at HALB, Ofra had her students make one bracelet for themselves and another for a soldier in the IDF. A HALB parent heard about this and decided to take it one step further. Dahlia Saperstein hosted her daughter’s entire grade of girls for a jewelry-making activity in her home. Ofra donated her time and supplies, and all of the girls made a bracelet for themselves and a second bracelet for a girl the same age in Modiin! It was a very special experience for the girls and everyone else involved!

Walk into any classroom at Central and simply mention the word Shabbaton. Student reactions will be loud and excited! It’s a high point of the school year, an event that creates memories that Central alumnae recall fondly decades later.

Due to the difficult matzav in Eretz Yisrael, the girls in the Bais Yaakov of Queens have been involved in various initiatives. Through these means, they have been demonstrating their ahavas Yisrael, their desire to be nosei b’ol chaveiro, and their g’milas chasadim. One important initiative is Match-A-Mitzvah, where each girl chooses a mitzvah to focus on more carefully as a z’chus for y’shuos in Eretz Yisrael. Another one, called Shabbos of Chesed, has the girls filling in a bookmark listing the chasadim they will perform on Shabbos, for example: set the table and babysit for younger siblings, as a z’chus for klal Yisrael.

Yeshiva Tiferes Moshe’s fifth-grade boys spent the beginning of the year preparing for the Gemara Mesibah. Their preparation included studying the background of Gemara and Torah SheB’al Peh. On Sunday morning, October 22, the fifth-grade boys and their families joined with their rebbeim and menahalim to celebrate the initiation of the boys into the Yam HaTalmud.

The fourth-grade students of Bnos Malka Academy gathered for a special occasion: the beginning of learning sifrei Nevi’im. As a unique siyum for finishing the first perek in Sefer Yehoshua, the students had a lavish breakfast and were thrilled to hear Rabbi Weichselbaum discuss the importance of learning Navi and the timely lessons for our daily lives. Students received a special Birkon as a gift to commemorate the morning and were able to make the connection that Yehoshua wrote the paragraph of Nodeh in bentching.
