The question on every “Vote Blue no matter who” Jewish voter’s mind must be: “Why are these pro-Hamas protesters always coming to our events? Why are they at the DNC? Why not the RNC? Do they want Trump to win?”
This is the wrong question to be asking. The question they should be asking is: “What is it about the Democrats that these pro-Hamas protesters feel that they have a voice within our movement?” The answer to that question is easy - and disturbing.
Democrats are far too kind and willing to accept the rabid Jew-hatred in their party. Everything Democrats accused Trump and Republicans of is simply projection of what they have festering in their own midst. Last week, on the 7th anniversary of the riots in Charlottesville, the Kamala Harris campaign repeated the debunked talking point that Trump called Jew-hating white supremacists “very fine people.” It took them nearly seven years to do it, but the left-wing fact checking website Snopes even admitted that this is not true. No matter, because the Democrats need to pretend that the Republicans have as bad a problem as they do.
This is laughable. This week, at the Democratic National Convention, thousands of Democrat voters are descending onto the city of Chicago to protest Harris and the Democrats. Why? Because they are too supportive of the Jewish state. Now, you may wonder, how can this be? Didn’t Joe Biden stop arms sales to Israel? Didn’t Kamala Harris call for a ceasefire? Didn’t they abstain from key UN Security Council Resolutions? Didn’t Harris and half of the Democratic caucus skip out on Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress? Yes, that is all true. It’s also not enough for these pro-Hamas lunatics.
These lunatics are literally chanting on the streets of Chicago, “DNC, go home or we’ll bring the war home.” Outside of “Globalize the Intifada,” another favorite of these psychopaths, it doesn’t get much clearer than that. They are threatening violence unless their demands are met. Those demands are a complete reversal of the United States policy on Israel; basically, backing Hamas militarily instead of the only democracy in the Middle East. Joe Biden, in his opening night speech to the DNC, went off teleprompter to say, “Those protesters out there in the street, they have a point.”
Kamala Harris, who literally stole the nomination without a democratic vote from Biden, is following his lead and doing everything she can to placate these losers. Instead of tossing them out of her party, she’s opening the door and inviting them in. She recently met with an extremist “Uncommitted” group, saying she was “open” to their demand for a complete arms embargo of Israel. She has repeatedly pushed for a ceasefire proposal that would not only leave Hamas in power in Gaza, but also forces concession from Israel to the Palestinian Authority, which just formed a unity government with Hamas.
It was reported that Harris met with Mayor of Dearborn. Michigan, Abdullah Hammoud. Dearborn has the largest Muslim community in the United States, and Michigan is a key battleground state that Harris must win to take the Presidency. So she doesn’t care that on October 7, Hammoud posted on social media: “Israel’s decades of illegal military occupation and imprisonment of Gaza make peace impossible and tragic violence inevitable. Israel has trapped millions of Palestinians in Gaza in what is recognized by the international community as the world’s largest open-air prison. Failure to recognize this context is the inability to comprehend what is unfolding overseas.” He said this while Hamas was still murdering civilians in Israel. Harris does not care.
What Harris only cares about is winning the presidency by any means necessary, so she wants the Jewish support. Harris appointed Ilan Goldenberg as her “Jewish Community Liaison.” Goldenberg is the poster child of a J-Street Democratic anti-Israel operative. He supported the Iran Deal, praised Obama’s parting shot to Israel at the United Nations (when the U.S. abstained from a condemnation of settlement building in Judea and Samaria), blasted Trump moving the embassy, and was the point person on the Biden sanctions of Israelis. Every anti-Israel position that can be taken by a Democrat has been taken by Goldenberg.
The DNC has become so anti-Israel that the Jewish state’s biggest supporter on the Democratic side of the aisle in the Senate decided to skip it. John Fetterman, the biggest surprise for pro-Israel Republicans, claims that he’s choosing to spend time with his family before they go back to school instead of attending. Peter Savodnik, writing for The Free Press, claims that despite Fetterman once being a “party darling” he is as far apart from Kamala Harris as it’s possible to be and “it’s hard to imagine Fetterman being welcome in Chicago—as strong a sign as any of the paradigm shift that has taken place inside his party.” That paradigm shift is most evident regarding Democrats and Israel.
Democrats cannot win without a massive youth vote. They need the campus protesters and the kids who are breaking down their own fences outside the convention center. Democrats are afraid that if these students stay home, they will lose. So they will open invite them into the tent and give them their policy demands, regardless of how many lives will be directly destroyed because of it. The protesters know this, so they are ramping up the pressure, waiting for Democrats to cave.
Former Ambassador to Israel David Friedman summed it up well: “Why are the Jew-haters ambushing the Democrats when they never showed up at the RNC convention? The answer unfortunately is simple and sad. The Jew-haters have no quarter with the Republicans, but they see (with some validity) the Democrat Party as their own. That tells you all you need to know.”
Pro-Israel Jews need to determine if the Democrat Party has any room for them as well.
