A Suggestion for Pro-Palestinians

Dear Editor:

Pro-Palestinians, please boycott products invented or created by Jews. Here are just a few ideas for you. Adamantly refuse to use Google and Facebook, both started by Jews. Refuse to use a ballpoint pen, word processor, or computer – invented by Jews. Boycott Oracle and Dell – started by Jews – and turn off your firewall. Throw away your mobile phone, your instant camera, and your camera phone. You get it; they were invented by Jews.

Get rid of your heat pump and refrigerator, invented by Albert Einstein, and throw out your solar panels. They are not as important as the cause. Do not obey traffic lights – invented by a Jew – and do not buy an electric car. Tell your doctor you do not want aspirin, Novocain, the polio vaccine, the pill cam, the pacemaker, or contraceptives, as well as many cancer cures. Make sure your doctor understands that you don’t want any drugs, medical devices, or techniques used on you or your family that were invented by Jews. Refuse to allow your doctor to use a defibrillator, invented by a Jew, to resuscitate you or a loved one or to put in a stent to save your heart.

Refuse to buy your kids Hasbro products, Barbie dolls, Superman comics, or video games, or shop at Toys-R-Us – all by Jews. Do not wear lipstick or use Ahava or Estee Lauder products – Jewish inventions. Don’t wear clothes by Jewish designers such as Calvin Klein, Anne Klein, Donna Karen, Lane Bryant, and Ralph Lauren. Certainly, do not wear jeans – invented by Jews! Don’t use Scotchgard on your furniture – invented by a Jew.

Avoid fish and chips, smoked salmon, noodles, SlimFast, and instant coffee – you’re catching on, all invented by Jews. And no more Snapple, a Jewish creation. The greatest ice creams were created by Jews: Baskin Robbins, Ben & Jerry’s, and Häagen-Dazs, but please don’t eat them. Dunkin’ Donuts, started by Jews, is out, and Krispy Kreme is pro-Israel, so doughnuts are a no-no. And no Mike and Ikes! Don’t use flex straws – that at least will help the environment. Do not earn money with Jewish companies such as Goldman Sachs or have the Jewish firm H&R Block help you reduce your taxes.

Please stay away from Jewish doctors, lawyers, investment institutions, hospitals, etc., despite the fact that they may have the highest ratings. Wait, there is good news: You no longer have to fight over the TV remote; just toss it out. It was invented by Jews. Genetic engineering and virtual reality are also Jewish inventions. Tell the government we should not use the Iron Dome or the Krav Maga military self-defense system, which is used around the world.

I can go on and on, but just one more suggestion: Don’t follow the legal system. It’s based on Jewish law – oh, right, you are illegally protesting.

There are many more Jewish inventions to avoid but start with those above.

We would appreciate it if you would also boycott pro-Israel companies. Don’t patronize McDonald’s, KFC, Domino’s, Papa John’s, Wick’s Pizza, Burger King, or Lululemon. Perhaps eat at home. Tell your kids that Disney should be boycotted, so no more Disney movies, Disneyland, or Walt Disney World. Don’t buy AXA, Siemens, Carrefour, HP, Remax, and SodaStream. Don’t invest in Elbit Systems CAF, CAT, Barklays, TKH Security, Hikvision, and JCB. Don’t drive cars from Hyundai, Volvo, or Chevron. Pro-Palestinians have called to boycott Puma, Nike, Adidas, Converse, and Skechers. Who needs to wear sneakers anyway? And don’t drink Coke!

Oh, yes, boycott Hershey’s chocolate. This will help your diet. Stay away from attending or watching sports events. The New York Jets and Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, the NFL, the NBA, etc. support Israel. Boycott these games. Instead, use your time to block bridges, tunnels, and airports and to deface monuments and buildings.

Surely, Hamas and the Palestinians will appreciate your dedication to their goal of murdering all Jews. We are certain, then, that you can replace these Jewish inventions and these Israel-supported products with Palestinian inventions. Here is a comprehensive list of Palestinian inventions to help you: a cheap and disposable mortar and Kassam missile launcher, an al-Quds rocket used against Israel, party balloons for starting fires and burning Israel’s crops, and a modern slingshot for small children to use against Israeli soldiers and civilians.

One more important note: Please turn off your Waze – invented by an Israeli – and get lost!

Dear Editor:

It’s 2024, so up is down, down is up, male is female, Israel is committing genocide against Hamas, and misdirection and gaslighting are the orders of the day.

Recently, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas attributed the stunning rise in illegal border crossings since Biden took office to “climate change.” Former Harvard president and serial intellectual thief Claudine Gay was dismissed last week. Upon her dismissal, she blamed her demotion from University President to $900,000 a year professor on “racism.” We are told by supporters of irreversible genital mutilation of minors that this is the highest form of “gender affirming care.” And those who have no qualms about murdering a human fetus in the ninth month seem to be the most worried about potential harm to the “innocent children” in Gaza.

Warren Hecht employs similar tactics as the above characters in trying to convince his readership that in order to save democracy, we must ensure that Donald Trump is not elected President of the United States. He engages in a Talmudic-style discussion over whether Trump should be on the ballot as an insurrectionist. I say “Talmudic style” discussion because the Talmud often engages in topics that are merely theoretical, similar to the case here. Unless that is, you believe Trump engaged in the first unarmed insurrection in world history. Regardless of how Mr. Hecht feels about this, we definitely know what Prosecutor Jack Smith thinks about this, as insurrection is not included in any of the four charges Smith charged Trump with. So, in Mr. Hecht’s view, in order to save our democracy, we need to subvert the will of an estimated 80 million people and respect the corrupt decision of four state judges to remove the leading Presidential candidate from the ballot for being an insurrectionist even though in the kangaroo court trial he has been dragged into, he was not charged with insurrection. I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t sound very democratic to me.

Mr. Hecht’s overt gaslighting of his readership is on full display here. When one asks the average person claiming Trump is a threat to democracy, what Trump did during his time as President that makes you feel this way, blank stares usually follow, because in reality, Trump’s policies were mostly normative Republican policies and aside from his demeanor, there was nothing extraordinary about his Presidency. That is, other than how much more successful this country was under Trump than we are now under Biden. Like mindless robots, all the Trump haters offer up is “January 6,” which has become a High Holiday for the Left.

When contrasting Trump’s fealty to democracy during his Presidency with Biden’s utter contempt for our Constitution, one is left to wonder how it is that Mr. Hecht’s “concern for democracy” alarm, which rings all the time for Trump, has not gone off even once for Biden. Why wasn’t Mr. Hecht worried about democracy when Biden attempted his dictatorial mandate on 100 million Americans for a leaky, underperforming, oversold Covid vaccine that never prevented the spread of Covid?

I do not recall Mr. Hecht expressing any concern at all over the unconstitutional rent moratorium Biden effectuated that was eventually overturned by the Supreme Court. Nor do I recall Mr. Hecht’s objection to Biden’s unconstitutional student loan/redistribution of wealth scheme. Perhaps Mr. Hecht mistakenly assumed what Biden was doing was legal. That unconstitutional act was also struck down by the Supreme Court. Even after being overruled yet again for attempting to subvert democracy, Biden, showing his blatant disregard for our rule of law, bragged last month about getting nearly $5 billion in student loans forgiven, despite the Court ruling it unconstitutional. Through all this, incredibly, Mr. Hecht’s democracy alarm still was on snooze.

Perhaps the most disturbing of all of Biden’s assaults on our democracy is the dereliction of his most fundamental duty as President: ensuring the safety and welfare of American citizens. Biden’s ignoring Section IV, Article 4 of our Constitution, which obligates him to “protect each of the states against an invasion” in favor of his asinine, open borders policy, has imperiled the safety of law-abiding citizens for 3+ years now.

And what is Mr. Hecht’s reaction to Biden’s breach of his most fundamental obligation to American citizens? To celebrate it in a column, extolling the virtues of allowing tens of millions of unvetted, unskilled, and potentially dangerous illegal aliens to invade our country.

Mr. Hecht, there are many reasons to worry about the long-term viability of American democracy, especially after all of the damage incurred from 3+ years of the current administration’s trampling all over the US Constitution. If you, sir, were truly concerned about democracy, you would have called out all the unconstitutional acts committed the past three years by the current administration. Instead, you chose silence. You held your fire for three years on actual Constitutional violations and only now express your concern about politically driven, nonsensical (alleged) violations of our Constitution by the one Presidential candidate you and the entire Left cannot fathom occupying the White House again.

Mr. Hecht, please spare us your faux legal analysis of the lawfare waged against Trump without acknowledging the nefarious political motivations behind them or even hinting at the obvious weaponization of the justice system against Trump. Your ideological blinders have been on for so long that you can’t even recognize the most obvious of all Democrat absurdities: that Democrats are deep into the process of breaking our democracy while shouting from the rooftops to the mostly uninformed masses that they are doing everything to save democracy.

Dear Editor:

I have noticed that the further away we get from our government’s botched response to Covid, the more people forget how incompetent, illogical, and in some cases illegal, the government’s response was. For those of you still possessing full confidence in our government, feel free to treat the Covid response as a one-off, a series of mistakes made by our elected and unelected leaders that destroyed the economy, wrecked our children’s education, and stripped people of their liberties.

For those of you who are a bit more sophisticated and can read between the lines, you should probably be asking yourselves what’s next? If the powers that be can mandate face diapers that provide zero protection against a virus as tiny as 100 nanometers in diameter and attempt to force a vaccine that does not vaccinate on 100 million Americans, what will they try the next time China and Fauci release another bio-weapon on the world? The corrupt powers in our country wanted to assert their controls over us and used Covid as a means of doing so.

How many of you are aware that in December, Republicans voted to extend the surveillance act that was used and abused to spy on the Trump presidential campaign? Would you be shocked if Democrats rolled out a plan for digital currency in the near future to track everyone’s financial moves? Our government used its Covid response as an experiment in controlling the population. While there was some pushback, most of the population went along with whatever lies our government parroted. Don’t think that overall compliance went unnoticed. I shudder to think what they will use next to exert their control over us.

Dear Editor:

Anti-Semitism. What a vile word and concept. However, if you think this is something new in the US, you are delusional. As Shlomo HaMelech said, “There’s nothing new under the sun.” The only difference is that now it’s more public and brazen.

I grew up in a town called Floral Park. It sounds like a little Garden of Eden, but it was more like a town in Nazi Germany. The town was divided into two sections: Nassau and Queens. The shul put the rabbi in the Nassau section while all the Jews lived in the Queens section. We lived in a Cape-style home, which was much larger than the million-plus-dollar Capes in Kew Gardens Hills. There were exactly two other Jewish families on our side of Jericho Turnpike, but most of the merchants on Jericho Turnpike were Jewish.

The worst day of the year was Halloween, when trick or treaters threw eggs at our front windows. Then, we had neighbors whose last name was Reinhardt. The woman was very nice and friendly. Her husband, on the other hand, never even said “Good morning” in the 18 years we lived there. One can infer from his last name what he thought about Jews.

I experienced the more obvious anti-Semitism the other week when I was driving to Teaneck. Once again, I missed Route 4 (I know you’re wondering how stupid can she be?). In fact, the sound on the Waze wasn’t working (Again, repeat the previous question.), and I ended up in Fort Lee. When I spotted a police car at a triangle that was under construction, I stopped to ask the cop for directions. He sat in his car and was yelling at me. He finally exited the car and berated me: “You don’t care about the cars in back of you” (true). All you care about is getting to where you want to go on time. (true, because it was Erev Shabbos.) My first reaction was to tell him where he could go, but I decided it wasn’t worth spending Shabbos in the Fort Lee jail. All he had to say was, “Make a right five feet from this spot and then another right.”

I guess the expression “Eisav sonei l’Yaakov” will always prove to be true.

Reparations Are Not Kosher

Dear Editor:

Governor Kathy Hochul signing a bill to fund the New York State Community Commission on Reparations Remedies. Her actions are disappointing. Slavery was legal in our state until 1827.

Since the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the private sector, along with government at all levels, have spent trillions under various programs which benefited African American citizens.  This included minority quotas for both employment hiring and admission to college, awarding of contracts to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, minority business mentoring programs, workplace mentoring programs for promotion to higher positions, and others.  Every glass ceiling in both the workplace and government was broken years ago.  There are African American CEOs of multi- billion-dollar corporations, billionaires, and millionaires.

It has been common for decades to find African American citizens holding senior management positions in government and business.  There are 1.7 million African American millionaires today.  There is now a large, growing, and prosperous African American middle class.

My Jewish ancestors did not own any plantations and did not poison any slaves with Hebrew National Salami.  They were too busy running away from the Cossacks and the pogroms.

Several African American generations have benefited and grown since 1964.  It is time to move on, rather than go back 158 years to re-litigate the 1861-1865 Civil War.  We have all grown to look beyond the color of a person's skin, ethnic origin, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or age, and accept each person for who they are today.

The late Civil Rights icon Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. said: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

 Sincerely,
Larry Penner
