Colors: Cyan Color

In last week’s Queens Jewish Link there must have been a half a dozen columns attacking the Democratic Party and/or specific members of the Democratic Party. Not one Republican was criticized. It is somewhat repetitious reading one article after another with the same theme. My initial reaction is to respond to counterbalance the one-sidedness of the paper. However, this week, as I did the past few weeks, I will not specifically limit my discussion to the president.

I was planning to write an article on Sunday night concerning the first part of the Mueller report, including responding to Jared Kushner’s ridiculous comment that the Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election was limited to a few Facebook ads. However, something happened on Sunday night that resulted in my changing the article.

I would guess that if you asked Jews what the worst book of the 20th century was, Mein Kampf (My Struggle) would be chosen by many or most Jews. The book was written by Adolf Hitler and published in two volumes in 1925 and 1926 while he was incarcerated as a result of his attempt to take over the German government by force in 1923. It contains many anti-Semitic themes and foreshadowed what he would do to European Jewry if he gained power.

Mining is a tough business – it’s always expensive, often disappointing, and sometimes compels miners to work in extreme and dangerous conditions.  Fortunately, new technology and rising prices of resources are making the risks and rewards more attractive – to such an extent that they are giving rise to a new, related industry.  This one is called deep-sea mining, and some companies are licking their chops at the prospect of getting involved in it.
