Sunnier days are finally here, and it’s time to embrace the Spring/Summer 2024 trends. This season incorporates lots of texture, movement and a 3D look. It brings plenty of inspiration from the runways.
The ‘90s minimalistic style has been revisited, while the boho style is back, incorporating colorful peasant skirts and flowy tops with lace and fringe details to add a bit more playfulness. Preppy styles, including pleated skirts, are also enjoying the moment, giving you the green light to dress a bit more chic than the high school athlete. Sequins and soft flowy light fabrics are everywhere, often found in the same pieces.
Instead of the all-time favorite black dress, you can now opt for a white dress, which is currently trending. Sky blue is a big color of the season as well, and universally flattering on most. This season gives way to muted shades, instead of the brights of yesterday. We will be seeing lots of pretty pastels such as lilac, mint green, sky blue, and butter yellow.
On the accessory front, belts are now wider and really bringing attention to the waist. For shoes, think ballet flats and white, tan, or cream sneakers.
The following makeup trends will complement your new spring pieces and are easy to achieve. Read on to brush up on the latest beauty buzz.
- Colored Mascara - Adding a pop of color to your lashes is the quickest and easiest way to incorporate an unexpected pop of color.
- Blue eyeshadow is back again for spring/summer. You can try a wash of sky blue with winged black eyeliner for a nostalgic look.
- Glowy skin - This look is always on trend when the weather warms up. This season, things are getting glossy and a bit sticky. To achieve the look, use a dewy foundation and dab a shiny highlighter onto the cheekbones for a targeted effect. Powder is not encouraged, so embrace cream products and appreciate the grease. To tone it down a notch, pat a setting powder with a puff to keep the product from migrating.
- Muted, Blurry Lips - Cool-toned berry shades and warm terracotta reds are in. The key is to apply the color with your fingers, instead of from the tube, which is not such a defined look. It will appear as though your lipstick just naturally faded to the perfect hue.
- Barbie Blush -Blush is currently having a doll- like moment. Try a dusting of pink blush, mainly on the apple of the cheeks. For longevity, simply layer a cream blush with powder on top for all day extra coverage.
- Smoky Eyes - Grungymakeup is currently having its moment. This look translates to an effortless smudgy and smokey look, accompanied with tightlined eyes.
- Holographic Makeup -If this look is intimidating to you, try addinga touch of metallic lip gloss or glittery eye shadow in a pink-purple shade
With so many beautiful and colorful options to choose from, see what speaks to you. So have some seasonal fun, experiment, and play to create a look that uniquely suits you.
