Although you may not consider yourself a brow pro, there are several tricks of the trade that will make your brows look great! Shaping your brows begins with a pair of quality angled tweezers. First, remove all stray hairs to shape your eyebrow, before applying any brow makeup. Steer clear of overplucking, which is one of the worst moves when you desire thick, luscious brows. This may require some restraint, but will be worthwhile. Once you achieve the desired shape, you will be ready to fill in sparse brows or any missing hair. You may need to incorporate a few different products to achieve the perfect look.

Eyebrow Pencils - If you’d like to start with a pencil, be sure to use one with a fine tip. This will give you maximum control while drawing strokes, and more precision means less time spent cleaning up the look. Begin drawing faux hairs at the base of the brow. Flick your hand upward, creating natural strokes. Bear in mind that the more pigment you add, the heavier your brows will appear.

If you made it through the days of excessive tweezing, you are already aware of how hard it is to restore your lush brows.  In some instances, you may need to fill in sparse patches using a brow pomade.  However, shading your entire eyebrow this way can result in artificial looking eyebrows. You can avoid this look by trying another method.

Brow Powder - Begin with a brow brush that has a spoolie on one end. Next use a brow powder that matches your eyebrow shade. If you don’t own brow powder, you can check your makeup bag for an eyeshadow in a similar shade, which will now serve a dual purpose. This will provide a natural look because you will avoid using too much pigment. By drawing your eyebrows in strokes, you can create a softer appearance. Next, comb the excess brow powder or eyeshadow with the spoolie end of your brush. Once you have created the look you desire, you can set it with a good brow gel.  This is necessary if you want to create longevity and have your brows stay put all day. Another alternative would be to dust the brows with loose translucent powder to make them last, especially through the hot weather.

Eyes are considered the windows of your soul, and your eyebrows are their frames. With a bit of know-how and a few key products, you can achieve a most polished look.
