On Wednesday evening, April 26, Congregation Ahavas Yisroel celebrated its 36th anniversary Journal Dinner at the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills. The guests of honor were Dr. Richard and Batya Gewanter.

We left Mitzrayim to be free so we could serve the true Master, Hashem, as His royal servants. We can see this so clearly in Queens, where there is so much chesed that Hashem has to be smiling.
On Monday evening, April 17, the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills hosted a virtual event commemorating Yom HaShoah. Rabbi Ari Schonfeld welcomed everyone. The event was organized by Rabbi Yoel Schonfeld, Rabbi Emeritus of the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills, Rabbi Moshe Rosenberg, Rabbi of Congregation Etz Chaim, and Rabbi Shmuel Marcus, Rabbi of the Young Israel of Queens Valley.
On Thursday evening, March 30, Chazaq hosted a night of inspiration commemorating the third yahrzeit of HaGaon HaRav Aharon Walkin zt”l at Congregation Charm Circle.
On Monday evening, March 27, The Jewish Board / Jewish Community Services and The Schwartz Brothers, Parkside, and Sinai Chapels presented a Passover Bereavement Program titled “The Empty Chair at the Seder Table.” The program was presented by Miriam Herscher, BCC, LMSW, and Adam Huttel, LMSW, at Schwartz Brothers Memorial Chapel in Forest Hills.
