Imagine what it was like to be among the first IDF soldiers to march into Gaza after October 7. On Wednesday night, November 26, the community gathered at the Young Israel of Queens Valley to hear an incredibly inspiring firsthand account of that experience from Yosef Green, an IDF soldier who bravely fought on behalf of Eretz Yisrael and klal Yisrael for the past two years, and his wife, Batsheva, who courageously held down the home front. The program, hosted by Chazaq and the Queens Jewish Link, left everyone awestruck and grateful for the courage of this young couple.

On Tuesday evening, November 18, Dr. Mel Breite, Founder and Director of the Navigating the Medical System Lecture Series, presented an informative virtual lecture hosted by Congregation Etz Chaim. Dr. Breite shared new developments in medicine along with recommendations to help the community stay healthy, emphasizing that good medicine is still “old-fashioned”: primary care should be one-on-one.

On Sunday evening, September 15, the Kew Gardens Hills community gathered at the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills to dedicate the new Congregation Mikveh Israel, the Beverly Blisko Women’s Mikveh. The scene was alive with warmth and an ruach, as neighbors, rabbanim, and supporters came together to mark a true simchah for the community.
