On Thursday, August 31, and Tuesday, September 5, HANC had two packed days of PD (professional development) for the faculty. Rabbi Hecht opened the PD with an amazing story about when you are united in your goal/mission, anything is possible. He went on to explain that our goal as a faculty is to make sure that everyone is focused on the student’s success.
The first session was based on the book Inspire by Michael Linsin. In fact, inspiration is our theme for the year.
The faculty was divided into groups where they discussed different techniques of how to run an efficient and successful classroom. Ms. Naomi Fredman, Director of Technology, gave an informative session on Nearpod through the lens of AI. Mrs. Morey and Rabbi Dworetsky gave a session entitled, Keep Calm and Teach On! which explored de-escalation techniques. The faculty walked away with many great lessons and excitement for the first day of school.
